Primary qualifications: RGN Dip Health Ed
Basic training to qualify as a Nurse takes 3 years and all Nurses must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), (from 2013 all nurse courses are degree level). Registration is renewed annually and from 2016 all registered Nurses must undertake Revalidation every 3 years. Practice Nurses work in GP Surgeries as part of a Primary Healthcare Team. They have many responsibilities including health screening, adult and child vaccinations, asthma checks, diabetes checks, family planning, wound care etc. Many Practice Nurses undertake additional training in order to study conditions such as asthma and diabetes in more depth
Eleanor studied Adult Nursing at University Campus Suffolk and qualified in December 2009. After qualifying she worked in Emergency Medicine including A&E. Eleanor joined Burlington Primary Care in February 2012 and continues developing her skills and role in nursing care.
