Primary qualifications: RN, Dip HE Nursing, BSc ( Hons) Nurse Practitioner, RCN Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Independent Nurse Prescriber, Dip CVD Risk, Nurse Mentorship.
Advanced Nurse Practitioners are highly experienced and educated members of the care team who are able to diagnose and treat your health care needs or refer you to an appropriate specialist if needed. They have undertaken a post graduate degree and can prescribe medications. The Nurse Practitioners will often see patients “on the day” for urgent appointments. At Burlington Primary Care the Nurse Practitioners work collaboratively with the General Practitioners.
Lesley joined BPC in April 2016. She qualified as a nurse in 2000 and began her nursing career working as a day surgery nurse. From there, she moved to Barts Hospital in London and became a Sister in the gynaecology oncology department before moving to Ipswich Hospital endoscopy department, after starting her family.
Lesley started working in Primary Care in 2009 where she trained as a Minor Illness Nurse Specialist and Independent Prescriber before qualifiying as a Nurse Practitioner. Lesley has a special interest in respiratory health and is Respiratory Lead for the Surgery.
When not working Lesley enjoys spending time with her family, socialising with friends, and exploring the countryside on foot and by bike.
