Home Visits

Requesting a home visit
Please telephone between 08:00 and 10:30am whenever possible and be prepared to give the receptionist some idea of the nature and urgency of the problem.
The Clinician will need to determine the urgency of the call before deciding to visit. Non-urgent cases may be postponed for another day.
Home Visits are only appropriate when medically justified. The obvious groups of patients needing home visits are the terminally ill, where a clinician has determined it be clinically difficult to attend surgery and those whose medical condition prevents them from leaving their beds.
Lack of personal transport is not sufficient justification for a home visit and there are few conditions where travelling will cause you harm. It is worth remembering we have more facilities at the Practice to assess and treat your condition.
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the Practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit.
If you are unsure whether you need to see a Doctor or Nurse please ask reception for assistance.
