Dr Dean Dorsett
Primary qualifications: BA(Oxon) MA MBBS MRCGP PgCertEd MBA
Dr. Dorsett was born in Dominica in the Caribbean. He attended Oxford University and qualified from St Georges Medical School, London University 2000. He has experience in A&E, as a forensic medical examiner and 10+ years as a family physician. He has achieved additional qualifications in education and has trained GP registrars and Cambridge medical students. Dr Dorsett now trains non-GP practitioners with innovative models that the CQC described as 'outstanding'.
He sits on the Governing Body Executive IESCCG, is the RCGP East of England Regional Clinical Lead for Person Centred Care, the Clinical Lead for Social Prescribing IESCCG.
Dr Dorsett is driven by the need to help make the very best cutting-edge healthcare both understandable and accessible to families and patients with the very highest need. His favourite charities are Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and Plan (a charity that helps deliver children's health and education to the worlds most challenged communities). He believes in empowering patients.
Outside medicine Dr Dorsett is an aspiring author of an immersive graphic novel for disadvantaged kids and sits as a governor to a very special / innovative primary school in Little Bealings. He is obsessively, intermittently and worryingly passionate about post-modernist minimalist architecture, origami, feminist leaders, martial arts, satirical comedy, koi, greek stoism, self-building, memory athletics, straw bales, meta-learning, bonsai, leadership theory, diffusion of innovation and cob. He has a very patient and long-suffering wife and aims to be the best daddy in the world ever.
