Primary qualifications: RGN BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing, Nurse Mentor, Leg Ulcer Management
Basic training to qualify as a Nurse takes 3 years and all Nurses must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), (from 2013 all nurse courses are degree level). Registration is renewed annually and from 2016 all registered Nurses must undertake Revalidation every 3 years. Practice Nurses work in GP Surgeries as part of a Primary Healthcare Team. They have many responsibilities including health screening, adult and child vaccinations, asthma checks, diabetes checks, family planning, wound care etc. Many Practice Nurses undertake additional training in order to study conditions such as asthma and diabetes in more depth
Rebecca grew up in Ipswich and completed her nurse training in 2004 and has worked within hospital settings as well as the community. After several years driving the roads of Suffolk, she joined Burlington Primary Care in 2014. Rebecca is currently undertaking a diabetes diploma.
In her spare time Rebecca enjoys spending time with family and the outdoor life.
