Total Triage
From 1st September 2025 we will be using a system called Total Triage to help ensure everyone gets the care they need in the safest and most efficient way possible.
How it works:
- When you contact us (by phone, online, or in person), your request will first be assessed by a member of our team, by asking the same triage questions.
- This initial step helps us understand the nature and urgency of your issue.
- Based on this information, we will decide the most appropriate next step. This may include:
- A same-day or routine appointment with a doctor or nurse
- A phone or video consultation
- Advice or treatment from another qualified healthcare professional (such as a pharmacist or physiotherapist)
- Self-care information or signposting to community services
Why are we using Total Triage?
- It allows us to prioritise patients with urgent medical needs
- It helps reduce waiting times in accessing the practice and also in receiving the tailored care that you require.
- It ensures you’re seen by the right person, at the right time
- It keeps the practice running safely and efficiently
